Reporting to Chief Marketing Officer

As a leading clothing retailer of finer menswear based in Toronto and operating in major centres across Canada, an exciting and challenging opportunity exists as a Full Time Managing Editor in our Marketing Department, centrally located at our office at Bay and Bloor. You will be part of a highly talented group of individuals working closely with our creative services and Omni team members. We are seeking a hybrid candidate with a mix of professional experience in journalism, editing and copywriting to be responsible for the following key areas:
-

Create and manage content on Company site against content strategy
Develop, manage and edit branded content for the following platforms: Web, Social Media and E-mail Campaigns.
Assign stories and provide scheduling
Optimize content for SEO
Adhere to the Company’s existing brand standards, tone and overall manner
Actively participate in the editorial session in regard to Harry Magazine and other Print Publications
Develop and monitor User Engagement strategies for both Site and Social Platforms

Key competencies & requirements:
An excellent writer
Previous experience writing about men/menswear
Broad business perspective
Project management savvy
Analytical skills
Strong collaboration
Coaching and management skills
University Degree or College Diploma in Journalism, Communications, English, Marketing or a related discipline.
Minimum of 5 year writing and/or editing experience – in agency, marketing or communications environment is required.
Corporate Communications, Public Relations and/or Media experience are considered an asset.
Demonstrated familiarity and interest in Menswear is an asset
