Overview
The Production Assistant is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting the efficient operation of the warehouse and production departments. This role focuses primarily on inventory control while providing support in production, purchasing, receiving, packaging, shipping, and maintaining accurate data within the MISys ERP system.
The successful candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, computer proficient, and comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing environment. This position requires a proactive individual who takes pride in inventory accuracy, follows established procedures, and works collaboratively with multiple departments.
Duties & Responsibilities
Inventory Management & Control
- Maintain accurate inventory records and inventory locations.
- Perform daily inventory transactions using barcode scanners.
- Conduct cycle counts and assist with physical inventory counts.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Organize inventory for efficient storage and retrieval.
- Maintain proper labeling and identification of inventory.
- Ensure inventory accuracy between physical stock and MISys records.
Production Support
- Prepare materials for production work orders.
- Issue and return materials to production.
- Assist with light assembly and production activities as required.
MISys / ERP Data Entry
- Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs). Will train.
- Create and maintain Part Numbers (P/Ns). Will train.
- Enter inventory transactions accurately into MISys (Data Entry)
- Update item master records and inventory information.
- Assist in maintaining accurate production and inventory data.
- Support continuous improvement of ERP data accuracy.
Receiving & Purchasing Support
- Receive incoming materials and verify quantities against purchase orders.
- Assist with preparing and tracking purchase orders.
Packaging & Shipping Support
- Package finished products according to company standards.
- Label packages accurately.
- Assist with shipping documentation and courier preparation.
Experience
Required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or manufacturing.
- Experience using barcode scanners. Will Train.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel.
- Experience working with inventory management software or ERP systems. Will train on MISys.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred
- Experience using an ERP/MRP system.
- Experience maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Experience creating or maintaining Part Numbers (P/Ns).
- Experience with purchasing and receiving processes.
- Experience in electronics or manufacturing environments.
Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- College diploma or certificate in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Business, Logistics, or a related field is considered an asset.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift up to 25 kg (55 lb) safely.
- Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse and production environment.

Pay: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
