The Finance Manager oversees the financial aspects of the Immunology commercial business unit in AbbVie Canada; this includes the provision of actionable financial information and business insight to enhance decision making and ensure financial and operational objectives are met. This position partners closely with the Immunology Commercial Director and the Immunology Leadership Team to establish strategies and align related tactics/projects across brands and therapeutic areas. In addition, this role oversees the financials for the Immunology patient support program, AbbVie Care.

Core Job Responsibilities:
Lead a team of highly motivated and engaged financial analysts by setting & aligning goals/priorities, motivating, and empowering the team to deliver exceptional results.

Provide finance leadership to the Immunology Commercial teams to establish strategies that align with business and financial objectives.

Oversee month-end close related activities for the Immunology franchise for rebates and other related gross-to-net accounting matters, expense management, and sales variance analysis. Partner closely with finance teams such as FP&A, Accounting & FSS on reporting & general ledger matters.

Lead all P&L related elements of financial planning exercises for Immunology brands, including: Long Range Plan (LRP), annual operating plans, and monthly forecasts (LBEs).

Provide financial leadership to commercial business partners on matters relating to Immunology brand lifecycle management, particularly as it relates to share/volume, pricing/market access, and resource allocation.

Develop business cases and evaluate investment proposals and capital projects to ensure Immunology brands realize their full potential.

Collaborate close with business partners other stakeholders to negotiate and secure favorable supplier contracts based on logical recommendations that are supported by financial analysis.

Champion, value, and measure cost savings and resource optimization programs.

Support various process improvement programs such as ASPIRE, implementing global policy updates, and instilling a culture of continuous improvement.

Oversee the validation of payor rebate claims and co-pay reimbursements.

Liaise with financial auditors and support audit related requests (SOX, internal and external audits).

Possesses a working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), AbbVie internal accounting policies, and AbbVie’s financial controls framework. Particularly in the areas of revenue recognition, expenditures and commitments.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to set and manage multiple priorities (across different time zones) to achieve results and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and demanding environment.

Strong sense of initiative and an inquisitive mind set.

Continuous improvement mindset; ability to generate ideas, challenge the status quo, solve problems, and to manage innovation to reality.

Bachelor Degree in Business (Accounting/Finance).

Professional designation preferred (CA, CGA, CMA or MBA).

Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant work experience.

Knowledge FSS and TOM (R2R, OTC, & PTP) preferred

Fluent in French and English

Knowledge of SAP & TM1 preferred

Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities:
Provides leadership, mentoring, coaching, guidance and direction to three direct reports.
