Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Teacher to create a nurturing and engaging learning environment for young children. The ideal candidate will have experience in early childhood education, excellent communication skills, and the ability to foster developmental growth through innovative teaching methods. This role involves working closely with children, families, and team members to support each child's educational journey and well-being.
Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages curiosity and learning
- Monitor and assess children's developmental progress, providing feedback to parents and guardians
- Support children with special needs or disabilities through tailored activities and accommodations
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress reports, and other documentation
- Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and administration regarding children's needs and classroom activities
- Ensure safety and hygiene standards are consistently upheld within the classroom environment
- Utilize computer skills for record keeping, lesson planning, and communication purposes
- Manage classroom behavior using leadership and organizational skills to promote a respectful learning space
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting, including classroom experience
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices
- Bilingual abilities in English and French are highly desirable
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in special education is a plus
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members
- Excellent organizational skills and time management to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently
- Ability to operate basic computer applications relevant to teaching activities
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to guide young learners positively
- Effective writing skills for documentation and reporting purposes
- A genuine passion for early childhood development and education excellence
- Early Childhood Education Diploma (or equivalent) and strong knowledge of child development.
- RECE in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE).
- Knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA) and related regulations.
- Strong daily communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with children and families.
- Experience supporting diverse, inclusive learning environments.
- Current Standard First Aid & CPR-C.
- Vulnerable Sector Check (must be obtained prior to start).
Pay: $23.86-$25.86 per hour
