We are looking for an experienced gardener with a full G or G2 License and a minimum of 2 years experience with a residential garden maintenance company. Experience with pots is a requirement. A normal season begins the last week of March and finishes the second week in December.
We are looking for a Horticulturalist who is passionate about gardening, and serious about a career in the industry. *We do not perform lawn care services, snow removal, or hardscaping.
Job Description:
To maintain and enhance client gardens using sound horticulture practices. The Lead Hand will be responsible for driving and will fill in as a Supervisor when needed. Previous experience in a leadership role is a requirement. We perform garden maintenance, four season decorative containers and plantings, perennial planting, garden renovations, and fine pruning. Experience with seasonal pots, garden renovation, planting and hedge pruning with a hedge trimmer is a requirement.
Preferred candidates will meet the following criteria:
- Report for work everyday on time and properly prepared with lunch, water, rain gear, secateurs, and work boots - We start at 7:00 am at the shop each day, but you may be asked to come in earlier on occasion for meetings or during extreme heat.
- Ability to take instruction, and perform all assigned tasks in an efficient and effective manner. Detail oriented.
- Ability to work in outdoor environments in a diverse assortment of weather conditions.
- Have the physical ability to perform all duties common in garden maintenance and planting.
- Displays a professional and respectful attitude towards clients and co-workers at all times.
- Expert knowledge of plants and their culture.
- An ability to lead, train and set timelines for teammates in order to complete work efficiently.
- A positive and motivated team player who strives for continual improvement.
- An individual who will lead by example and uphold all company policies and values.
