ABOUT THE JOB:
THP Variety + Gas Bar is looking for a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Customer Experience Cashier to join our team. This role is more than simply processing transactions — it is about creating a welcoming and positive experience for every customer who walks through our doors.
Our Cashiers are the face of the store. The successful candidate will actively engage with customers, assist with product questions, make helpful suggestions, and ensure every visitor receives fast, friendly, and professional service. This role also plays an important part in maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked store.
The ideal candidate takes pride in store appearance, enjoys interacting with people, and is committed to handling transactions accurately while helping create a positive shopping experience for both community members and visitors.

Some key qualifications are as follows:
- Applicant must have a clean criminal record
- Be able to work in a very fast pace environment
- Basic Computer Literacy
- Previous Cashier experience an asset
- Experience with customer service, fuel, tobacco sales or proficiency in a similar task
- Incredible customer service skills and the ability to help maintain a customer focused culture and problem solve
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Flexible Schedule, punctual and reliable
- Able to work independently and in a group
- Multi Task
- Heavy Lifting up to 30lbs
- Cash Handling and counting ability
- High School Completion (Preferred)
- Able to take and follow direction
Some responsibilities will be, but not limited to:
- Provide excellent customer service and positively engage with all customers
- Maintain a neat and organized area
- Accurately scans, enters, and processes product and payment.
- Receive Inventory
- Follow Safety Protocols, and ensure appropriate housekeeping
- Merchandising: basic maintenance and cleaning, stocking shelves, and advising appropriate person regarding shortages or stock outs.
- Ensure loss prevention standards are followed
- Accurately counts and controls cash and tobacco inventory with prescribed cash handling policies and procedures
- Maintains proper security of cash and merchandise
Job Duties:
- Answer basic incoming customer inquiries
- Process accurate customer transactions
- Collaborate with key stakeholders and teams to stay updated on new products, services, and policies
- Engage with clients in a friendly and professional manner while actively listening to their concerns
- Offer support and solutions to customers in accordance with the company's customer service policies
- Other duties as requested
