We are currently recruiting for a Sales Support Executive/Estimator in the any of our Canadian locations, who will support the Business Development Team in the sales process. This position will support the sales staff by participating in project site walks (when requested), bid plan take offs, bid plan estimates, design build projects, Sales to operations pre-bid review and sales to operations final turnovers.
Main Job Responsibilities:
Work directly with sales in the estimating & bid process. By: Being involved in the bid no bid decision / Effectively managing the requests from sales through scheduling and communication.
Support the Business Development Team with the estimate and review process.
Participate in the preliminary specifications review and qualify opportunities.
Work closely with purchasing, engineering and our technical resources to reduce any margin of error in the estimate.
Attend pre-bid meeting to provide technical knowledge and assist with determining the scope of work, define material requirements for the estimate, and identify any project risk.
With lead sales professionals, perform project “walkthroughs/Site Surveys” and create general security system design and supply insight into associated scope of work (Sub contractors and Operations).
Maintain file of estimating and cost records in accordance with established processes and best practices.
Perform job walkthroughs and on-site technical audits in support of the sales team.
Use Iquote as required to provide estimates.
Develop knowledge & become a SME (Subject Matter Expert) in Convergint core Security Systems.
Act as “our customer’s best service provider” at all times thereby ensuring Convergint Technologies is the customer’s first choice for service.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
Key Knowledge, Skills and Education
Minimum of 6 years experience in operations directly related to the execution, design, and risk evaluation of projects and service specific to the Security Systems industry.
Canadian Government Security Clearances or ability to obtain is preferred.
Experience working in conjunction with sales, contractors and end users required.
Experience with the construction bid/tendering process required.
Experience with formal RFP/RFQ processes required.
Experience with putting estimates together through cost analysis to determine the best solution for Convergint and the Client.
Product-specific certifications (or related work experience) preferred in any of the following: Genetec, Lenel, Software House, Gallagher, Avigilon, Kantech, Milestone, Pelco, Schneider, Axis, Bosch, Hanwha, Code Blue, Commend, Ai-phone, Vingtor-Stentofone, Panasonic, Sony, Pro-watch
Bilingual French/English desirable (but not required).
Experience with Bluebeam PDF Tool preferred
Field experience (Installation and Service) considered an asset.
