Our client, a well-established leader in fluid-flow technology and commercial pump manufacturing, is seeking a Test Operator to join their growing manufacturing team.
Responsibilities:
- Load and unload pumps from the test stand and complete setup for testing, including electrical connections and installation of test instrumentation.
- Operate pump testing equipment and computerized test systems according to established procedures.
- Monitor and review test results to verify that all required specifications and performance criteria are met.
- Identify and report testing issues, failures, or non-conformances to the appropriate quality personnel.
- Ensure test results and documentation are accurately saved and maintained in the appropriate computer files.
- Program and adjust variable frequency drive (VFD) parameters when required.
- Use measurement instrumentation including flow meters, pressure transducers, and power meters.
- Follow established safety, quality, and testing procedures at all times.
- Read and interpret work orders, technical documents, testing procedures, and specifications.
- Maintain an organized and safe work area.
Qualifications:
- Electrical or mechanical technician experience, with a diploma or trade certificate in an electrical or mechanical discipline preferred.
- Experience working with computers and testing software, including Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Excel.
- Hands-on experience using measurement and testing instrumentation.
- Previous experience with product testing in accordance with established procedures or technical specifications.
- Manufacturing or industrial experience, particularly in a hands-on testing or production environment.
- Ability to read and understand work orders, technical documents, and specifications.
- Strong mathematical skills; Grade 12 or equivalent required.
- Familiarity with quality control and quality assurance practices, including inspection checks and documenting non-conformances.
- Experience programming VFD parameters is considered an asset.
- Experience working in an ISO 9001-certified manufacturing environment is considered an asset.
