Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in St. Catharines, ON, for a Sous Chef. The Sous Chef will assist the Executive Chef in preparing and managing high-quality dishes for service. This includes overseeing kitchen staff, ensuring food safety and cleanliness standards, managing inventory and supplies, and contributing to menu creation. The role also involves training and mentoring team members, monitoring food quality, and maintaining the overall efficiency of kitchen operations.
Qualifications
- Culinary skills, including food preparation, cooking techniques, and knowledge of ingredients
- Leadership and team management abilities, with experience in training and oversight of kitchen staff
- Expertise in food safety and hygiene practices, as well as inventory and kitchen operations management
- Creativity in menu development and a strong passion for delivering quality dining experiences
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Formal culinary education or equivalent on-the-job experience is an asset
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Previous experience in a similar role within the restaurant or hospitality industry is preferred
