Position Title Part-time Events Coordinator
Required Qualifications

Candidate Qualifications and Skills:
  • Possess a positive, outgoing personality. Be comfortable approaching students, faculty, and staff to coordinate and promote the events.
  • Possess creativity to come up with unique event ideas that will best benefit our student population.
  • Ability to recruit and manage volunteers to work at events.
  • Proficiency in all forms of social media.
  • Be a self-starter and able to work under minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of the Keyano college diverse student population.
  • General administration skills (email, photocopying, scanning to email, answering telephones, etc.)
  • Excellent customer service attitude.
  • Must be comfortable hosting some events in a bar environment.
  • Previous experience in Marketing will be considered an asset.
  • Experience planning events, promoting via social media and managing projects.
  • Preference will be given to Keyano College students, preferably in the Business program.

Job Description
The Students’ Association of Keyano College (SAKC) is hiring a part-time events coordinator.

The successful incumbent will be responsible for planning events for Keyano students to enhance their college life experience.
This is a part-time, temporary position beginning immediately and will end on or before April 30, 2019.
The position will report directly to the Executive Director.
Compensation is $17.00 per hour for approximately 17 hours per week.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):
  • Create a schedule of events for the winter 2019 semester that will best meet the needs of our students here at Keyano College.
  • Collaboration with multiple departments and clubs within the college (Student Mental Health Committee, Housing, Athletics, Student Services, LINC, etc.) to assess student needs as well as promote upcoming events.
  • Plan and coordinate details of each event from idea stage to completion, while respecting current budgets.
  • Collaborate with the VP Internal Affairs to ensure proper promotion and marketing of all events planned.
  • Recruit and manage volunteers to work at events.
  • Create promotional materials to advertise events.
  • Communication with all parties involved in events.
  • Other duties as required.
