The Finance Manager is the “Business Partner” on the “Plant Leadership Team” to assist in the development and implementation of plant objectives and strategies and to ensure there is effective control in the financial management reporting systems. The Finance Manager is responsible for coordinating and preparing accurate monthly plant cost reports, forecasts, progress performance plans, budgets, capital and other plant financial information. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting and works to improve understanding of key business drivers and maximize results within the product line. Identification and implementation of best practices comprise a key component of this role.

Financial Analysis: Review and analyze regional financial results and identify areas for Provide financial support for Plant Leadership Team (i.e. VP/GM, Plant Managers, and Production/Maintenance Managers etc.). Interpret events and activities from a financial perspective (monthly, quarterly, and annually). Analyze and provide recommendations to Senior Leaders, Plant Management Team, etc.
Financial Planning & Modelling: Assist in all Financial Planning activities with respect to monthly forecast and Mid-Term plan. Perform financial modeling and quantitative analysis of information. Interpret events and activities from a financial perspective Build or review strategic and business plans (MTP). Participate in the annual progress performance plan.
Financial Reporting: Represent finance on cross functional/regional projects and initiatives. Prepare monthly journal entries as required for local market. Work closely with the business to prepare monthly forecasts and annual budget. Provide informative, timely, and reliable financial information for local Senior Leaders and Product Line Finance Director. Manage accounting and reporting functions of the market including preparation of management presentations. Liaise with Service Centres to ensure collaborative achievement of Finance objectives. Reconciliation of asset and liability accounts for plants to audit all transactions and ensure all balances are accurately stated in the Corporation’s balance sheet.
Financial Compliance: Maintain financial and accounting controls and oversee adherence to company policies. Focus on maximizing efficiency and standardization of processes across the various product lines Work in concert with the finance team in Eastern Canada to drive standardization of activities across the product lines. Oversee adherence to company policies and be a change agent for process and system improvements.
Inventory Management: Manage the inventory at several sites in Eastern Canada through monthly balance review and reconciliation of survey results to physical.

Education & Work Experience:
Must have Undergraduate Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business
5+ years of financial management experience with increasing responsibility and complex roles
Professional accounting designation required (CMA, CGA, CPA, or CA)
Operational and Shared Services Finance experience, preferred
Key user SAP experience, an asset
Bilingual English and French - this is mandatory
Knowledge & Skills
IFRS knowledge and demonstrated financial/business analysis/cost control skills
Detailed knowledge of Cement Plant operations, an asset
Strong decision-making and analytical skills
Self-starting, flexible and responsive; able to make independent decisions in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks/assignments within specified deadlines
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written
Able to develop and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, as well as internal and external customers
