Sinai Health is looking for an experienced Secretary to join our Postnatal Ambulatory Clinic (PNAC) at the Mount Sinai Hospital site.
About the Postnatal Ambulatory Clinic
The Postnatal Ambulatory Clinic offers services for Mount Sinai Hospital postpartum patients within the first seven days after birth including Newborn follow up as directed by a health-care providers, and infant and breastfeeding support. PNAC is a service that provides care for infants with certain diagnoses in the first seven days after birth and parents who may be experiencing infant feeding challenges. PNAC does not offer long term infant care, emergency infant care, routine infant assessment or maternal care.
In this role you will:
- Provide general administrative support to the nursing and medical staff providing care in the department
- Facilitate efficient patient intake and flow
- Create an environment of warmth, welcome and positive customer service
- Ensure appropriate security of patient records and transfer of patient information among various clinical offices/departments in the Women's & Infants' Health Program
- Prepare staff schedules
- Complete weekly payroll and nursing workload submissions and monthly statistical reports
- Facilitate the maintain department supplies and repair of office/clinic equipment
- Perform other duties consistent with the job classification as required
Job Requirements:
Mandatory
- Successful completion of a Medical Secretary diploma or the equivalent, from an accredited educational institution
- 2 years of experience in preparing staff schedules and payroll submissions in a unionized environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
- Proficiency in Patient Registration and Payroll software
