Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Safety Manager to lead our safety initiatives across multiple construction sites. In this vital role, you will develop, implement, and oversee safety protocols that ensure a secure working environment for all team members. Your expertise will help foster a safety-first culture while maintaining compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive safety policies and procedures tailored to construction projects.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure adherence to safety standards.
- Lead safety training sessions for employees, subcontractors, and visitors to promote awareness and best practices.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, or near-misses thoroughly, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions.
- Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to integrate safety measures into daily operations.
- Ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal safety regulations and industry standards related to construction.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, incident reports, and compliance documentation.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction safety management within industrial or large-scale construction environments.
- Strong knowledge of construction estimating, quality inspection, construction inspection, electrical systems, project management, and quality control processes.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to train teams effectively on safety protocols.
- Ability to conduct thorough site inspections and identify potential hazards proactively.
- Relevant certifications such as OSHA or equivalent safety training credentials are highly desirable.
- Construction or electrical experience is preferred to better understand technical site requirements.
