Software License Senior Specialist - Job Description:
The Software License Senior Specialist will support software asset and license management activities to ensure compliance, optimization, and data accuracy across an enterprise technology environment. The role includes license compliance assessments, data analysis and reconciliation, and stakeholder collaboration to improve operational processes and service delivery.
Software License Senior Specialist - Responsibilities:
- Conduct monthly and quarterly software license compliance assessments with a focus on Microsoft licensing.
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings to drive software optimization initiatives.
- Analyze software license purchases versus discovery/inventory data for reconciliation and remediation.
- Maintain software procurement, contract, and inventory records.
- Perform software license research to support purchasing decisions.
- Maintain and validate data quality within asset management systems.
- Provide input to improve operational processes and service delivery.
- Support stakeholders in software selection decisions.
- Provide end-user functional support.
- Participate in software audits and compliance readiness activities.
Software License Senior Specialist - Mandatory Skills:
- Strong expertise in Microsoft licensing (mandatory).
- Knowledge of software licensing models (Microsoft, Adobe, Oracle).
- Experience with software asset management tools such as Flexera, ServiceNow, and SCCM.
- Demonstrated data analysis and reconciliation experience.
- Experience managing software compliance and participating in audits.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
Software License Senior Specialist – Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience supporting large enterprise environments (retail or similar scale).
- Background in asset management or IT operations teams.
- Experience participating in vendor negotiations or licensing optimization.
- Process improvement mindset and continuous improvement contributions.
Software License Senior Specialist – Assignment Length:
This is a 3-month contract to start.
