Job Summary
Reporting to the Production Supervisor on duty, the Production Team Lead will be responsible for managing the production team, ensuring efficient workflow, supporting quality standards, and adhering to safety protocols.
Duties
1. Team Leadership:
- Support and motivate the packaging team to ensure and achieve daily productions goals with efficiency.
2. Quality Control:
- Ensure that all products are packaged correctly and meet quality standards.
3. Process Improvement:
- Continuously seek ways to improve packaging processes, including safety, quality, and cost-efficiency.
- Identify and implement improvements in packaging processes.
4. Production Scheduling:
- Collaborate with the supervisor and production scheduler to plan, schedule, and manage production tasks and projects.
5. Inventory Management:
- Support the team with inventory levels and ensure the availability of necessary materials.
6. Equipment Maintenance:
- Ensure the production machinery is in good working order and schedule maintenance as needed.
7. Safety & Compliance:
- Follow all company and regulatory safety guidelines, including food safety standards and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) compliance.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and handle and store all produce per food safety requirements.
- Enforce safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Maintain a safe working environment by implementing safety protocols and ensuring machinery is safe to use.
8. Reporting:
- Prepare and maintain production reports and records.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Production Lead, preferably in a food production or produce-related environment, is an asset.
- College Diploma or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of production processes and machinery.
- Ability to read and review paperwork for allocation of products.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle products with care.
- Comfortable working manual labor, including lifting and standing for long periods lasting up to 12 hours.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
