Job Description
The Toronto Raptors communications department is looking for a coordinator to join our team. The Coordinator, Media Relations will assist with a variety of daily tasks and responsibilities on game nights, with a focus on updating team publications. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Communications and working with the Manager, Media Relations, the successful candidate is the ultimate team player: a self-starter, a good writer, statistically savvy with an eye for detail, committed to providing an exceptional level of service, and passionate about the game of basketball.

Share in the responsibility of updating all day-to-day team publications, including game notes, statistics, and postgame notes in a timely fashion with a high attention to detail.

Gather and distribute daily news clippings to basketball operations and coaching staff each morning.

Manage, produce, and distribute credentials for all home games.

Set up media seating and workspaces at Scotiabank Arena on game days.

Greet media at the credential desk pre-game serving as the first point of contact.

Assist in the publication of all annual team guides, including Media Guide, NBA Draft Guide, NBA Summer League Guide, Preseason Guide and Postseason Guide.

Support with practice media availabilities and other special projects as required.
Qualifications

University or college degree in sports administration, journalism, public relations or a related field.

Minimum 1-2 years of experience – sports experience is an asset.

Strong writing skills and statistical understanding, and a strong technical knowledge of the NBA, NBA G League and WNBA.

Familiar with the local, national, and international sports media landscape.

Strong interpersonal skills and a desire to work in a collaborative team environment.

Strong understanding of social and digital platforms.

Experience using Adobe InDesign and Photoshop is an asset.

Second language is an asset.

Must be willing and able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Must be legally able to work in Canada.
