Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the repair and maintenance of various heavy machinery, including excavators, cranes, and farm equipment. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring that all equipment operates safely and efficiently.
Duties
- Conduct thorough inspections of heavy equipment to identify mechanical issues and malfunctions.
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery, including oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication.
- Repair and replace components such as transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, and suspension systems.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to carry out repairs effectively.
- Interpret schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot problems accurately.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed on all equipment.
- Collaborate with other mechanics and service technicians to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs.
- Adhere to safety protocols while operating heavy machinery and performing repairs.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or similar role.
- Must be Licensed & have ability to do CVIP's
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive diagnostics and repair.
- Familiarity with various types of heavy machinery including Caterpillar equipment, forklifts, tractor-trailers, and industrial equipment.
- Experience with fabrication techniques is a plus.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and HVAC systems.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during repairs.
- Knowledge of electrical systems is beneficial for troubleshooting purposes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or in a team setting.
- Strong communication skills for effective customer interaction.

Pay: $29.39-$55.47 per hour
