We are looking to add a highly motivated individual to our dynamic optometric team as an Optometric Assistant/Technician/Receptionist. Responsibilities
- Greet patients, verify their information, and assist with the intake process to ensure accurate medical records.
- Submitting insurance claims and receiving payments as needed.
- Conduct a thorough history of the patient's reason for their visit.
- Prepare patients for examinations by performing preliminary tests including retinal photos and OCT scans, autorefraction, pressure checks, amongst other tests.
- Administer eye drops when needed
- Assist the optometrist during exams when needed and ensuring all equipment is properly sanitized and ready for the patients encounter.
- Manage electronic medical records (EMR) systems to document patient data accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organized clinic environment adhering to privacy regulations and safety protocols for patient confidentiality and infection control.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in medical office settings or optometric clinics is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology related to eye health would be beneficial.
- Ability to perform intake procedures and basic clinical tests confidently.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care and customer service excellence.
