Under the general supervision of the Stores Coordinator, the Storekeeper 4 is responsible for running the store and tool room, supplying various sections of the Water and Waste Department with required materials, parts and tools.
As the Storekeeper 4, you will:
- Be responsible for receiving all materials and goods.
- Issue and record Purchase Requisitions for various departments.
- Ensure compliance with established purchase procedures.
- Contact distributors, manufacturers and suppliers, detailing types and quantities of goods required, delivery dates, tax status, freight applicable etc.
- Expedite the delivery of goods as required.
- Maintain accurate reference, catalogues of products specifications and prices.
- Issue tools and equipment to a variety of trades personnel.
- Maintain inventory of parts and supplies.
- Order protective clothing and first-aid supplies for all sections.
Your education and qualifications include:
- Grade 12 education or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Ability to efficiently process high volume of paper and electronic requests daily in efficient operation of Stores.
- Maintain communication with all Department Supervisors and Foremen.
- Knowledge of technical terminology required to conduct efficient business with suppliers and sales representatives.
- Ability to carry out mathematical computations required to order and account for material, tools and equipment.
- Ability to carry out all stores related clerical duties, communicate verbally and in writing.

Conditions of employment:
- The successful candidate must maintain legal eligibility to work in Canada. If the successful candidate possesses a work permit, it is their responsibility to ensure the permit remains valid.
- A Police Information Check satisfactory to the employer will be required from the successful candidate, at their expense.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 Manitoba Driver’s Licence. The successful applicant will be required to provide a Notice of Driver’s Licence In Force document upon request.
- Must be physically capable of performing the duties of this position.
