Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Office Assistant/Receptionist to join our healthcare team. This role is vital in ensuring smooth daily operations within our medical practice, providing exceptional patient service, and supporting clinical staff. The ideal candidate will have experience with electronic medical records, strong administrative skills, and a professional demeanor. Prior experience with dental or medical office systems such as Dentrix and Epic is highly preferred. This position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and excellent communication are essential.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in procedures at the front desk
- Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and relay messages accurately
- Maintain and update patient records using electronic medical records systems such as Epic and Dentrix
- Verify patient insurance information and process billing or payments as needed
- Prepare and organize documentation for clinical staff and ensure compliance with privacy regulations
- Assist with administrative tasks including filing, faxing, scanning, and data entry
- Coordinate appointment scheduling to optimize provider availability and patient flow
- Support clinical staff by handling administrative duties that facilitate efficient office operations
Skills
- Proficiency with electronic medical records systems such as Epic and Dentrix
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to healthcare documentation
- Experience as a dental receptionist or in a dental office setting is highly desirable
- Previous medical or healthcare office experience preferred
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment
- Exceptional communication skills for interacting professionally with patients, staff, and insurance providers
- Familiarity with front desk operations, multi-line phone systems, and administrative procedures
- Ability to adapt quickly to new software applications and office protocols
- Professional appearance and demeanor combined with a compassionate attitude toward patients
Pay: $22.00-$28.00 per hour
