Job Title: Car Lot Attendant
Location: Store #192 – Canadian Tire Automotive Service Centre
Reports To: Automotive Service Manager / Service Advisor Team
Position Summary
(Contracted position. Start date negotiable, End date Sat Dec 19.2026)
The Car Lot Attendant is responsible for the safe, efficient movement, organization, and care of
customer and company vehicles in and around the Automotive Service Centre. This role supports
technicians and service advisors by ensuring vehicles are ready, accessible, and properly staged
for service, delivery, and storage while maintaining a clean and organized lot.
Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Handling & Movement
Safely move customer vehicles between the parking lot, service bays, and storage areas
Stage vehicles for technicians based on the service schedule
Park completed vehicles in parking lot
Assist with moving vehicles in and out of hoists when required
Lot Organization & Cleanliness
Maintain an orderly and safe parking lot
Monitor parking flow to ensure space availability for incoming customers
Keep drive lanes, service entrance, and vehicle storage areas clear
Remove debris, snow, ice, and hazards from lot and entrances (seasonal duties)
Ensure signage and vehicle tags are visible and correctly placed
Vehicle Care & Inspection
Perform quick visual inspections upon vehicle intake (damage, tire condition, etc.) and
take photos
Report any pre-existing damage or safety concerns immediately
Check that windows are closed, lights are off, and vehicles are secured
Install seat covers and floor mats when required
Ensure keys are properly tagged and stored according to procedure
Support to Automotive Team
Assist technicians and advisors with vehicle positioning and readiness
Help maintain cleanliness inside the shop and customer waiting area
Support seasonal tire changeover organization and tire storage flow
Assist with battery boosts or minor non-technical tasks under supervision
Run parts between parts department and technicians
Customer Interaction
Greet customers courteously when moving vehicles
Direct customers to service advisors or waiting areas when appropriate
Represent the store with professionalism and care when handling vehicles
Health & Safety
Follow all safety procedures when driving and parking vehicles
Adhere to speed limits and safe driving practices on the lot
Use caution in adverse weather conditions
Report hazards, incidents, or near-misses to management
Qualifications
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
Ability to drive manual transmission
Strong spatial awareness and safe driving habits
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
Good communication and teamwork skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Physical Requirements
Standing and walking for extended periods
Frequent entering and exiting vehicles
Lifting up to 50 lbs (e.g., tires, tools, equipment)
Working outdoors in heat, cold, rain, and snow
