Direct Bore Inc. is a telecommunications construction company specializing in underground infrastructure, directional drilling, and fibre optic network builds. We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Locate Administrator to join our team.
The Locate Administrator will be responsible for coordinating utility locates, permits, municipal consents, and project documentation to support daily construction operations. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to stay on top of multiple deadlines at once.
Responsibilities
- Request, obtain, and track utility locates for excavation projects
- Coordinate city permits, road occupancy permits, and municipal consent requirements
- Prepare locate-ready packages and construction project folders
- Communicate with municipalities, utility companies, internal project teams, and field staff
- Maintain accurate records of locates, permits, drawings, approvals, and related documentation
- Track outstanding locates, permit statuses, expiry dates, and project requirements
- Follow up on delays, discrepancies, or missing information
- Ensure all documentation is organized, accurate, and up to date
- Support project teams with administrative tasks as required
Qualifications
- Previous experience in locates, permitting, construction administration, or a similar role is preferred
- Experience in telecommunications, utilities, or underground infrastructure is considered an asset
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Excel
- Must have strong Excel knowledge and be comfortable using spreadsheets for tracking, sorting, filtering, and maintaining accurate project information
- Strong communication, organization, and follow-up skills
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
