Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mining Electrician to join our team in constructing, maintaining and repairing electrical systems within a mining environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with industrial and commercial electrical systems, including high and low voltage applications, and be proficient in reading schematics and blueprints. This role offers an opportunity to work on complex electrical projects, including renovation and construction tasks, ensuring safety and compliance with industry standards such as CEC. Candidates should possess strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work effectively on construction sites, with a focus on safety and precision. This job is for a gold mine in Bissett, MB and will have shifts of 14 days on and 14 days off shifts.
Duties
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in mining environments, including high voltage and low voltage equipment
- Troubleshoot electrical issues using tools such as ohmmeters, power tools, and hand tools.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to accurately perform installations and repairs.
- Program and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to optimize operational processes.
- Ensure all work complies with CEC standards and safety regulations
- Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems to identify potential hazards or failures.
- Assist with renovation projects, construction site work, and upgrades of electrical infrastructure
- Perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime of critical equipment
- Collaborate with other trades such as frame carpentry or handyman services during project execution.
Skills
- Proven experience as an industrial or commercial electrician, preferably within mining or construction environments
- Strong knowledge of CEC standards, schematics reading, and blueprint interpretation
- Experience working with high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) electrical systems
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation tasks
- Construction site experience with renovation or new installation projects
- Ability to read technical schematics and blueprints accurately
- Prior experience in construction or renovation projects is highly desirable
- Valid electrician license or certification preferred
- Ability to work safely in a hazardous environment while adhering to all safety protocols

Pay: $45.05-$55.05 per hour
