This position is responsible for performance of duties in the Clinical Lab Support Data Integrity department. Position is located at the APL Avenida site. The duties include, but are not limited to identifying, investigating, and remediating discrepancies in the Epic Beaker Module in Connect Care Clinical Information System (CIS), POCT Aegis and TeleMED utilizing various database systems (Client Registry, PD, Netcare, JIRA, Service Now). Duties include investigating and remediating order entry errors to ensure corrected lab reports are reissued for authorizing healthcare providers, investigating and remediating healthcare provider and submitting location information to ensure timely reporting of laboratory results, to ensure continuity of care and mitigation of patient safety risks that may occur due to delayed reporting. This position assists Health Information Management (HIM) team with remediating overlays and patient demographic discrepancies in Connect Care CIS and TeleMED. Remediation of discrepancies and order entry errors are performed by using approved APL laboratory policy, processes, and procedures. Also, they provide support/ service to both internal and external clients at a provincial level, participate in system testing programs and submit Submitter/Provider build requests into Epic Beaker data tables.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. course(s) in office of business administration, medical office assistant).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Teams, Excel, and Outlook. Experience using multiple healthcare information systems is required, including Connect Care/Epic Beaker, Netcare, and Quanum. Intermediate keyboarding proficiency is essential. Must be fully competent in laboratory patient registration, with a minimum of two years of registration and/or health information-related experience preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology is required. Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills are essential. Accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet turnaround times and deadlines are required. Effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary, including the ability to clearly communicate with healthcare providers during remediation investigations. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills are required to build and maintain positive working relationships with healthcare providers, colleagues, leadership, and patients. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and independently to resolve challenges. Must be able to balance business and client needs while maintaining data integrity and adhering to policies, procedures, privacy legislation, and confidentiality requirements related to patient information.
Preferred Qualifications:
Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g., Laboratory Assistant, Health Information Management, Nursing) or equivalent experience. Experience responding to inquiries regarding laboratory reports, providing administrative support, and working with laboratory information systems and databases is an asset.
