Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Red Seal Millwright to join our maintenance team in a long standing, high quality Lower Mainland Sawmill. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial maintenance, mechanical knowledge and experience with various wood processing equipment. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment, contributing to overall production efficiency. Plenty of overtime paid out at time-and-a-half/double time available for those looking to make a little extra.
Duties
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on industrial sawmill machinery and equipment. Included but not limited to bearings, debarkers, gang saws, belting, pm's etc.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues using precision measuring instruments.
- Work alongside other trades such as electricians and welders to ensure proper functionality of automated systems.
- Perform basic hydraulic system repairs and maintenance.
- Perform basic welding tasks, including stick welding, as required for repairs or modifications.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance operational efficiency and safety standards.
Skills
- Red Seal millwright ticket preferred but will look at apprentices as well.
- Proven millwright experience with a strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to analyze problems and work as a team alongside other millwrights.
- Excellent understanding of the English language for effective communication within the team and with clients.
- Drivers License or ability to get to site consistently is a must
Maintenance shift is 230pm - 11pm Monday to Friday with OT available on Saturdays. Dayshift rotational production shift available once a strong understanding of all equipment has been established
