Overview
We are growing!!! As we grow, we are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join the small team at our plasma collection center.
Our center is open Monday to Saturday, some Saturday shifts are to be expected.
The phlebotomist is responsible for performing the plasma pheresis procedure on plasma donors. The Phlebotomist is responsible for the efficient and effective collection of plasma from donors by performing venipuncture, monitoring the pheresis process and following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Responsibilities
- Welcome and engage donors.
- Set up and operation of apheresis machines for each procedure.
- Set up daily center duties as required.
- Perform phlebotomy while ensuring donor safety and comfort.
- Collect whole blood samples from donors when required.
- Monitor donors during the donation process.
- Collaborate with team members as required.
- Assess donor for signs of an adverse reaction and takes necessary steps for immediate action including performing medical first aid as required.
- Disconnect the donors from the apheresis machine after each donation.
- Educating donors on recovery period and post-procedure expectations

- Proficient in performing phlebotomy.

Preferred competencies:
- Phlebotomy for plasma donation or whole blood collection
- Precise Venipuncture skills
Education:
Completion of an accredited post-secondary program (phlebotomy course) is preferred, or one-year phlebotomy experience.
Experience:
- 2-year phlebotomy experience is preferred
- Experience in Plasma Pheresis is preferred
- Emergency First Aid
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00-$28.00 per hour
