Dining Room Host / Hostess - Cavell Gardens
WestCana is looking for strong, experienced Full-time Dining Room Host / Hostess with a passion for the elderly to join one of our teams to support our residents in various Long Term Care, Assisted Living and Mental Health Facilities around British Columbia.
Positions/Shifts:
- Full-time, Tuesday-Saturday: 11am - 7pm
Dining Room Hostess Responsibilities:
- Greeting all the guests and seat them according to their preference;
- Ensures guests are seated comfortably and there is a someone present to take their order;
- Ensure that guests have a good time at the restaurant/dining rooms and look immediately into any complaints they might have;
- Ensuring that the restaurant is clean before they open for business, for which they should inspect all around and point out anything dirty to the cleaning crew;
- Coordination between all the staff working in the restaurant and ensure that everything is in working order;
- By enquiring from the guests whether they enjoyed the food and the service;
- Communicating and advertising services, meals, and the dynamics of the restaurant for the Derby Manor residents and others, advertising materials, and web site inserts;
- Meal service to residents/customer/clients including food, snacks, tea, coffee, and other beverages;
- Clearing tables, and re-setting tables
Dining Room Hostess Must Haves:
- Maintains Food Safe Level 1 Certificate.
- Maintains WHMIS certification.
- Successful completion of secondary school or equivalent.
- Legally allowed to work in Canada.
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
- Effective interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to organize work and work under strict time constraints.
- Satisfactory proof of COVID-19 vaccinations.
Dining Room Hostess Nice to Haves:
- Building Service Worker Certificate, Institutional Aide Certificate and/or Basic Food Safe Certificate.
- Institutional cleaning experience.
- Previous experience in Long-term Care Facility and/or food service establishment.
