Location: This position is located in Moosomin, SK and will serve our Saskatchewan & Manitoba markets
Reports To: Instrumentation & Combustion Manager
Reporting directly to the Instrumentation & Combustion Manager, the Apprentice Gas Fitter supports Primec's field operations by assisting with the installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of natural gas and propane-fired equipment.
Working under the guidance of experienced Journeyman Gas Fitters and Combustion Technicians, this role provides hands-on training in gas fitting, combustion systems, and customer service while ensuring all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable codes and regulations

What You'll Do
- Assist with the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of gas-fired equipment and combustion systems.
- Support troubleshooting and diagnosis of gas systems, burners, heaters, boilers, and related equipment.
- Assist with inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance activities to ensure system reliability and efficiency.
- Learn and apply CSA code requirements, safety standards, and Primec work procedures.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and service vehicles in a safe, clean, and organized condition.
- Accurately complete service reports, inspection records, and other required documentation.
- Work safely in industrial, agricultural, commercial, and oil and gas environments.
- Participate in safety meetings, on-the-job training, and apprenticeship development activities.
- Build positive working relationships with customers, coworkers, and contractors.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
What You Bring
- Registered Apprentice Gas Fitter or willingness to enroll in a recognized provincial apprenticeship program
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license
- Previous experience in gas fitting, mechanical trades, oil & gas, construction or related industries is considered an asset
- Experience working in industrial or field environments is considered an asset
