We are looking for an Accounting Manager to join our Finance Team. The Accounting Manager will support the Controller in overseeing the financial reporting and analysis as well as overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations. This position is ideal for someone who is motivated by continuous improvement and is looking for opportunities for growth as the business expands.

Supervise, develop and mentor accounting team

Oversee daily workflows of the department, review work and improve processes/controls

Support hiring, onboarding and retention of team members

Provide coaching, training and ongoing performance feedback

Act as point of escalation for accounting issues and provide guidance to team members

Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including accounts receivable and accounts payable functions

Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all reconciliations, journal entries and financial statements are completed accurately and on time

Prepare and analyze monthly financial results and provide recommendations on actionable financial insights

Lead the preparation and coordination of the annual budgets for all store locations

Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to support internal decision making

Identify process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and internal controls

Contribute to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures

Assist with the annual review engagement, banking requirements and external reporting

Performs other related duties as assigned

Previous experience reconciling Point-of-Sale and SAGE 300 data is an asset

Working knowledge of tax laws and ASPE

Strong financial analysis skills

Strong Microsoft Office skills including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Proficiency navigating spreadsheets, databases, and financial software applications

Effective written and verbal communication skills

Experience in multi-location retail, grocery, or inventory-driven businesses is a strong asset

Proven ability to supervise and lead a team

Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required

Accounting designation is highly preferred
