Overview
We are looking for an HVAC Installer to work on refrigeration, cooling and combined heating cooling combination systems including, industrial, commercial and institutional settings.
Responsibilities
- Plans, lays out, installs, starts-up connects, tests, verifies commissions and decommissions refrigeration and air conditioning systems, electronic components and their accessories
- Installs and connects piping for the purpose of conveying all types of refrigerants used for both primary and secondary heating and cooling
- Checks efficiency outputs and parameters; inspects and checks operation and integrity of components; determines set points; replaces defective, leaking discolored and worn components; performs shut-downs and lock outs; makes adjustments to pressures and controls; cleans and lubricates components; checks calibrations, reassembles and repairs components and systems; starts-up tests and charges the systems
- Measures, cuts, bends threads and connects pipe to functional components and utilities and services, tests, adjusts, commissions and decommissions the system
-Fit and join sheet metals parts using riveting, welding, bolting and similar equipment to fabricate products such as ventilation shafts, exhaust hoods, general ductwork, and fire penetrations.
-Read engineering and architectural drawings, sketches and work specifications to be performed and lay out measure and mark sheet metal according to drawings or templates
-Working with tools and equipment to cut, bend or straighten sheet metal
-Welding sheet metal parts
-Draw duct fittings for fabrication
-Order ductwork and fittings as per SMACMA requirements.
-Install sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes
-Ensure safety is a priority on the job during all activities, including using tools and installing and fabricating metal
Skills
- Registered Apprentice and in good standing with Skills Trade Ontario
- Must have a minimum work experience of 3-5 years
- Valid Trade Certificate (WHMIS, WAH, Life License)
- Proficiency in HVAC system installation techniques
- Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions and ability to deal with problems in a professional and efficient manner
-Must be a problem solver, self starter and have the ability to work independently
-Valid Ontario driver’s license with clean abstract.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00-$45.00 per hour
