SECONDARY TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION
The Richmond School District is seeking a part-time Technology Education and Information Technology teacher.
This position consists of four (4) blocks of Technology Education and one (1) block of Information Technology and will include Woodwork 8-12, Metalwork 8-12, Automotive Education 9-12, Robotics 9-11 and Information Technology 9-12.
A demonstrated commitment to implementing all aspects of the BC Curriculum, including competency and inquiry-based, big ideas approach to teaching and learning. A demonstrated ability to build rapport and engage students from diverse backgrounds, a wide variety of learning needs, and styles. The successful candidate for this position must have current academic and professional preparation as well as teaching experience in technology education at the secondary grade levels.
McNair Secondary is a comprehensive 8-12 school with a focus on student voice and promoting a well-rounded education. To enhance the level of student engagement, the staff is building stronger connections between what students are learning in the classroom and real-world examples. Our focus is to increases student motivation and inspire them to be accountable for their own learning. We continually examine how we can incorporate aboriginal perspectives and the First People's principles of learning into our teaching.
