Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Athletic Therapist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide specialized patient care, injury prevention, and rehabilitation services to a diverse patient population. This role requires excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and a solid understanding of medical terminology and acute care procedures. Experience in hospital settings, pediatrics, and case management is highly valued. Bilingual or multilingual abilities, especially in French, are considered an asset to effectively serve our diverse community.
Responsibilities
- Assess and treat injuries related to sports, physical activity, or accidents using evidence-based techniques
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients requiring rehabilitation or injury management
- Provide patient education on injury prevention, recovery exercises, and health maintenance strategies
- Maintain accurate case management documentation and update patient records regularly using Word processing and medical software
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals including nurses, physicians, and physical therapists to coordinate comprehensive care
- Assist with acute care procedures and manage patient flow efficiently within the clinical setting
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to operate and troubleshoot therapy equipment effectively
- Manage time effectively to ensure timely patient appointments and follow-up sessions
- Support pediatric patients when necessary, adapting treatment approaches accordingly
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and other relevant word processing tools
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients and healthcare team members
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to athletic therapy and acute care environments
- Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously with excellent organizational skills
- Fluency in French or other languages is a plus; bilingual capabilities are highly desirable
- Experience in hospital or clinical settings with pediatrics preferred
- Familiarity with case management practices and patient care protocols
- Mechanical knowledge useful for handling therapy equipment and devices
- Strong analysis skills for assessing patient needs and adjusting treatment plans accordingly
- Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
