Experienced Barista – New Café Opening Soon

About Us
Café Rideau is a new café coming soon to Montreal Road. We're excited to bring a new space to the neighbourhood and are looking for an experienced and customer-focused Barista to join our team. As we prepare to open our doors, we're looking for someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in their craft, and wants to be part of building something from the ground up while helping create a welcoming experience for every guest.
Here are a few things you can expect when you join our team as a Barista:
- Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner.
- Prepare and serve high-quality coffee, espresso-based beverages, teas, and other café offerings.
- Provide excellent customer service and create a positive guest experience.
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system and handle cash and card transactions.
- Complete opening, on-going, and closing checklists as required. Perform general and specific cleaning tasks using standard cleaning products as assigned by the supervisor to adhere to health standards.
- Restock supplies and monitor inventory levels as needed.
- Work collaboratively with team members in a fast-paced environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience working in a café as a Barista.
- Experience preparing espresso-based beverages and operating coffee equipment.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a busy environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented.
- Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays if required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with specialty coffee preparation
- Knowledge of café operations and food safety practices
