Job Summary
Steamworks North Shore is looking for a dining room manager to join our opening team. This unique opportunity involves establishing a restaurant team from the ground up for our December 2024 opening. We are looking for a dynamic service leader that will help facilitate a fun, organized, attentive, and energized dining room. An ideal candidate is someone that has been in the hospitality industry for a few years and is ready to jump into management to continue their industry development. This is an entry level management position focused on your development and building your management skills. Extensive training will be available for the right candidate.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Help hire, train and develop team members
· Ensure labour budgets are being met
· Run dining room shifts
· Support staff training routines
· Staff discipline and skills development conversations
· Support large parties and private events
· Coordinate staff food knowledge and education
· Support bar inventory, counts, ordering, invoices and Optimum Control reporting
· Execute and support monthly operational goals
· Continually look for ways to improve processes, procedures, and reduce costs
Education and Experience Required
· Food Safe Certification (asset)
· 2-3 years’ experience in a high-volume dining room
Other Required Skills
· Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment
· Ability to be self-directed and solve problems
· Effective interpersonal skills
· Ability to communicate in English both orally and written
· Experience using Microsoft Office
