Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Part-time Pharmacy Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role provides essential support in pharmacy operations, ensuring efficient medication dispensing and patient care. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in healthcare, excellent attention to detail, and a compassionate approach to patient interactions. Prior experience in hospital settings or pharmacy technician roles is highly valued.
Duties
- Assist pharmacists with medication preparation and dispensing
- Manage inventory of pharmaceuticals and supplies
- Enter prescription data accurately into pharmacy systems
- Provide excellent patient care by answering questions and offering guidance on medication usage
- Prepare labels and packaging for prescriptions
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy workspace
- Support administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and record keeping
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and medical regulations
Requirements
- Prior experience in hospital or pharmacy technician roles preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration procedures
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and team collaboration
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Compassionate attitude towards patients and healthcare team members
- Ability to work part-time hours with flexibility for shifts as needed
Experience
- Previous experience in a retail or customer service role is preferred
- Familiarity with cash handling procedures
