Summary
The Apprentice Truck/Trailer Mechanic is required to perform skilled tasks in the mechanical repair, and maintenance of trucks, trailers, and general equipment. The candidate must be willing to learn how to analyze, troubleshoot, dismantle, align, assemble, and adjust mechanical equipment and machinery to maintain it in efficient operating condition. Work assignments will be received in the form of oral or written work orders, the employee is expected to help determine the nature and extent of needed repairs.

Job Duties
- Assist in troubleshoot, diagnose and repair commercial trailers and equipment
- Installation of new and added-on equipment
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs to trucks and equipment
- Monitor parts usage and report on any materials used
- Assist in ordering replacement parts and supplies
- Accurate completion of work orders
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance
- Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work
- Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology and repair techniques
- Maintain safe working conditions and adhere to occupational health and safety regulations
- Perform in a team environment with minimal supervision
- Other mechanical repair work as required
Job Requirements
- Completion of college/vocational or technical training
- Must have 2 - 3 years experience as a registered 310T or 310J Mechanic.
- Possess a valid driver’s G class license
- Proven mechanical abilities in commercial truck/trailer repairs
- Ability to work independently in a busy environment
- Experience with routine maintenance operations
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Able to work well under pressure
- Strong attention to detail
- Computer literate
