Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Coordinator to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will champion safety initiatives, ensure compliance with industry standards, and foster a culture of safety excellence across our operations. Your expertise in construction environments and management software will be instrumental in maintaining a safe workplace while supporting project success.
Duties
- Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies aligned with industry regulations and company standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards, enforce safety protocols, and promote best practices among field teams.
- Coordinate safety training sessions for employees and contractors to ensure understanding of safety procedures and compliance requirements.
- Risk assessments prior to new projects or site start-ups, and on an ongoing basis as needed
- Supporting field technicians and operations with correct PPE, HSE onboarding, Azi Care training, and ensuring procedures are up to date and aligned with local requirements
- Provide HSEQ training
- Investigate incidents, near-misses, and safety violations thoroughly, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of safety audits, training sessions, incident reports, and compliance documentation using construction management software.
- Act as a point of contact for regulatory agencies during inspections or audits, ensuring all documentation is current and accessible.
- Building a strong HSE culture across management and teams, covering both physical and psychosocial work environment.
Preferred Requirements
- Proven experience working within drilling/mining environments with a strong understanding of site safety protocols.
- Ability to travel to sites across Canada on rotation basis
- Familiarity with HSE management software for tracking safety metrics, incident reports, and compliance documentation.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively train teams, conduct inspections, and liaise with regulatory bodies.
- Ability to identify hazards proactively and implement effective mitigation strategies promptly.
- Certification in health and safety standards (such as OSHA or equivalent)
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
