Located in downtown Calgary and reporting to the Controller, the Financial Analyst will be a key member of the Finance team responsible for the financial reporting, analysis, and accounting of multiple global entities under the Shareworks by Morgan Stanley network.

The Financial Analyst will be a collaborative business leader with a track record of process improvement and successful delivery on the objectives of the Finance department.

Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation of statutory financial & regulatory reporting for multiple jurisdictions (North America, Europe, Asia and Australia) under IFRS and US GAAP
Assist in financial month end close duties including preparation of GL reconciliations and posting of journal entries
Prepare variance analysis of the financial results against budget and actual
Prepare financial modeling and forecasting
Performing technical research and providing recommendations on complex or material accounting transactions
Coordinate financial audits and reviews
Support management in preparing corporate and business line plans
Work with management to prepare operational and financial key performance metrics and analytics
Identify areas for improvements and implement them in the day to day financial processes
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Professional designation (CPA)
3+ years of Accounting or Finance experience
Understanding of IFRS and US GAAP with ability to apply it to internal and external reports
Ability to prepare GL reconciliations and financial statements
Demonstrated proficiency with technology and technical concepts, including but not limited to the Microsoft Office Suite
Strong analytical, attention-to-detail, and problem-solving skills
Comfortable in a fast-paced and evolving environment which includes ongoing learning and training opportunities
Demonstrate excellent communication skills (verbal & written) and ability to explain complex accounting requirements to both finance and operating personnel
Results oriented, driven and thrive in a position that will allow you to make a significant contribution to the ongoing growth and profitability of the Company’s operations

Preference for:
Previous audit and assurance experience at a public accounting firm
Experience in FinTech or Financial Services industry an asset
Experience in regulatory reporting under FINRA and IIROC an asset
