Responsibilities
- Should be able to cook indian cuisines i.e. tandoori items.
- Should have experience making south indian dishes i.e. dosa, idli, sambhar.
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation and cooking processes
- Supervise and manage kitchen staff, ensuring efficient teamwork and adherence to standards
- Develop and refine menu items, incorporating innovative culinary techniques
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to maintain smooth operations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area at all times
- Lead by example in serving guests with professionalism and hospitality
- Train new staff members on food preparation, safety protocols, and service standards
- Collaborate with management to plan special events or menu changes as required
Experience
- Proven supervising experience in a restaurant or food service environment
- Extensive background in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling procedures
- Experience managing a team within a fast-paced hospitality setting
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff and foster teamwork
- Familiarity with restaurant management practices and customer service excellence
- Prior experience in the food industry or related hospitality roles preferred
- Knowledge of serving techniques and guest interaction to enhance dining experiences
