We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care for animals. Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring cleanliness and organization
- Handle and restrain animals safely during procedures to minimize stress
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
- Collect samples for laboratory testing and perform basic laboratory procedures
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all information is documented properly
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and post-treatment instructions
- Assist with inventory management, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels
Skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members
- Laboratory experience is preferred to assist with diagnostic testing
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Compassionate nature with a genuine love for animals of all sizes
- Basic knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures is an advantage
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
