Position Summary
This position is responsible for the leadership and direction of international student recruitment initiatives. Reporting to and working closely with the Director, Marketing and Recruitment, this position will be responsible for the design and implementation of the international student recruitment plan.
The Manager, International Student Recruitment will provide leadership for initiatives and activities related to international student recruitment, oversee the implementation of the prospective student communication plan, and will be responsible for the direct supervision and performance management of the International Recruitment team including Contract overseas staff and independent recruitment agents. Some international travel will be required to maintain overseas relationships.
This is a key role in supporting the College’s strategic enrollment goals.
Position responsibilities and accountabilities include but are not limited to:
Team Leadership:
- Oversee the International Student Recruitment team, including overseas representatives and agents.
- Recruit, hire, and manage staff to support departmental goals.
- Supervise staff, provide performance feedback, and address performance issues.
- Manage staff schedules, approve absences, and ensure staff development and training.
- Ensure compliance with relevant policies and collective agreements.
Strategic Planning & Execution:
- Develop and implement student recruitment strategies aligned with the College’s goals.
- Build relationships with international recruitment agents and relevant institutions.
- Monitor recruitment data, evaluate targets, and adjust strategies as needed.
- Provide guidance on immigration policies affecting students and recruitment.
Operations Management:
- Lead international recruitment operations and oversee communication with prospective students.
- Collaborate with marketing to align recruitment messaging and branding.
- Manage proposals, contracts, and negotiations for international projects.
- Ensure high-quality service by responding efficiently to student inquiries.
Collaboration & Compliance:
- Work closely with Student Services and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Ensure compliance with College policies, government regulations, and privacy guidelines.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- 4 years of relevant experience.
- Successful track record in international student recruitment, project management and/or B2B sales and negotiation
- Ability to participate in recruitment activities outside normal office hours
- Ability to travel off-site from the college, including international business travel that may exceed 30 days annually
- Valid passport and ability to obtain international travel or business visas without restriction
- An equivalent combination of directly related education and experience may be considered.
- If your education was received internationally we will require you provide an international education assessment through IQAS, WES, or one of the other nationally designated organizations upon hire
