THE OPPORTUNITY:
This is an opportunity for someone who understands mitigation operations from the ground up and is ready for a broader leadership role—one where your impact extends beyond individual job sites to the people, processes, productivity, quality and performance of an entire field operation.
You will be joining a strong organization with an experienced management team, established operational resources and meaningful opportunity for continued professional growth. The environment offers both the scale and support to make a real difference in how work is delivered in the field.
For an experienced mitigation leader who enjoys developing people, improving systems and taking ownership of operational results, this could be a very attractive next step.
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
- A genuine operational leadership role. This is not simply a senior technician position. You will help shape the performance of the mitigation operation and the people delivering the work.
- A strong team around you. Work with experienced operational leadership, Mitigation Team Leaders, Technicians, Project Managers and trade partners in a collaborative environment.
- The opportunity to develop people. Provide coaching, oversight, best practices, training and performance feedback to help field employees become more capable and effective.
- Real influence over how work gets done. Identify better, faster and more responsive ways to deliver mitigation services while protecting quality, safety and profitability.
- A larger platform for growth. Join an established restoration organization with the resources, infrastructure and scale to support both operational excellence and longer-term career development.
- Visible impact. Your leadership will directly influence customer experience, employee performance, job quality, productivity and financial results.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Reporting to senior mitigation leadership, the Mitigation Operations Manager - Restoration Services is responsible for the effective execution of job-site mitigation work.
The role has direct accountability for productivity, quality and budgetary compliance across field mitigation operations, excluding contents and cleaning activities.
This is a hands-on leadership position. You will be expected to maintain regular visibility on active job sites, support and develop the field team, make sure resources are being used effectively, and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with approved project requirements.
- Field operations leadership. Take ownership of the day-to-day performance of mitigation field operations with particular emphasis on productivity, workmanship, responsiveness and budget compliance.
- Team oversight and development. Provide Mitigation Technicians and Mitigation Team Leaders with the direction, equipment, best practices, coaching and skills development required to perform effectively.
- Staffing and resource management. Help maintain appropriate employee and sub-trade capacity to meet operational demands and changing project requirements.
- Job-site leadership. Maintain regular in-person attendance on active job sites to evaluate progress, support teams, address issues and reinforce performance expectations.
- Quality and budget control. Ensure work completed by Mitigation Technicians, Team Leaders and sub-trades complies with project work orders, approved budgets and organizational quality standards.
- Operational improvement. Continuously identify opportunities to make onsite response and service delivery more efficient, consistent and responsive.
- Customer experience. Help ensure employees and trade partners deliver high-quality work and a professional customer experience throughout the mitigation process.
- Equipment management. Ensure field equipment is accurately tracked, properly maintained and available when required.
- Vehicle readiness. Ensure service vehicles are clean, organized, appropriately stocked and maintained to support effective field response.
- File documentation. Ensure field documentation is complete, accurate and properly prepared for submission into the organization’s file-management systems.
- Performance management. Prepare written annual performance reviews for Mitigation Technicians and support senior mitigation leadership in evaluating Mitigation Team Leaders.
- Safety leadership. Ensure mitigation employees work safely and in accordance with the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and applicable organizational requirements.
- Safety communication and training. Lead regular safety discussions covering current issues, best practices and operational concerns, and provide or arrange additional training when required.
- Emergency response. Participate personally in the on-call requirements necessary to support the organization’s 24/7 emergency-response commitment.
EXPERIENCE:
The strongest candidate will understand the realities of field mitigation operations and what it takes to get work completed properly when circumstances are changing quickly.
You know that successful mitigation requires more than technical knowledge. It requires leadership, organization, judgment, urgency, accountability and the ability to get the best from people.
You are comfortable walking an active job site, identifying what needs to change and providing clear direction. At the same time, you understand the importance of budgets, documentation, equipment control, safety practices and the customer experience.
You are someone people can look to for answers, coaching and leadership—not simply because of your title, but because you understand the work and are prepared to be present when your team needs you.
QUALIFICATIONS:
You will be particularly well suited to this opportunity if you have grown through the restoration or mitigation side of the industry and are ready to take on broader responsibility.
Perhaps you are currently a Mitigation Manager, Mitigation Supervisor, Field Operations Supervisor, Senior Mitigation Team Leader or experienced restoration field leader and have reached the point where you want a larger challenge.
You may already be leading people informally and asking yourself:
“What is the next step for me?”
This role provides the opportunity to move beyond managing individual projects or crews and become an important part of the leadership structure of a substantial restoration operation.
If you enjoy being close enough to the field to understand what is really happening—but also want the authority and responsibility to improve how the entire operation performs—this opportunity deserves a conversation.
