FUNCTION
Mechanical Field Execution and Health and Safety Representation ROLE
SUMMARY
Convert approved work packages and technical requirements into safe, controlled and evidenced field implementation while participating in worker-safety representation and protecting the next hand-off.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Mechanical field execution, installation, commissioning support, preventative maintenance and repair. Complete assigned physical work to the approved work package, drawings, procedures, acceptance criteria and client requirements. Complete site-, job- and tool-specific hazard assessments, inspections, permits, documentation and CES evidence. Maintain safe worksite organization and protect customer/client property and equipment. Confirm required tools, equipment, PPE, training and work-package information are available before execution. Identify deficiencies, red flags, changed conditions and technical questions rather than guessing or exceeding assigned authority. Participate in worker health-and-safety representation and support hazard assessments, inspections, worker concerns and corrective-action effectiveness. Maintain capability for written site-specific, work-package or vendor-program supervisory assignments where trained, competent and formally appointed. Coordinate appropriately with operations, engineering, quality, vendors and client/site personnel. Complete field evidence, photographs, asset records, service documentation and task closure in CES. Support commercial fitness, recreation, accessibility and related mechanical equipment throughout installation, service and lifecycle work.

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technician/Technologist studies, or an equivalent recognized technical pathway with demonstrated field competence. Practical mechanical aptitude and ability to work safely with tools, equipment, assemblies and installed systems. Ability to read and work from technical documentation, procedures, work packages and acceptance criteria. Understanding of HSE-Q, hazard assessment, client-site requirements, equipment/tool controls and documentation expectations. Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel for field and remote work as required. Reasonable physical capability for the assigned mechanical field scope. Strong written, photographic and digital documentation discipline.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
ACI is building each Body of Work position around an individual professional identity. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain and develop credentials appropriate to the role. ACI’s current development direction includes CAPM as a common project-execution credential and an ASET C.Tech./C.E.T. pathway where the person’s education, experience and ASET requirements support it. Credentials are never represented as earned until formally granted. The role will also develop and maintain applicable site-specific, job-specific, tool-specific and client-required safety qualifications. By July 1, 2027, occupied Body of Work positions are expected to hold an appropriate recognized professional, technical or occupational credential for their assigned discipline.
AUTHORITY BOUNDARY
This is a technical field-execution role. Professional designation, education or Body of Work position does not independently create engineering approval authority. Engineering and professional-practice matters escalate to the Responsible Member/Professional Engineer. Operational priorities flow through the Operator. Site or work-package supervisory authority applies only when the individual is trained, competent and appointed in writing for the defined scope.
