Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service, handle transactions accurately, and contribute to a positive shopping experience. This role requires excellent communication skills, proficiency with POS systems, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Bilingual abilities and experience in retail sales or merchandising are a plus. The Cashier will play a vital role in ensuring smooth store operations and fostering customer loyalty.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their purchases using POS systems
- Process cash, credit, and digital payments accurately while handling cash securely
- Provide product information and perform product demos when necessary
- Maintain organized checkout areas and ensure merchandise is properly displayed
- Manage customer inquiries via phone or in person with professionalism and courtesy
- Assist with merchandising tasks and stock replenishment as needed
- Uphold store policies on cash handling, returns, and exchanges
- Support team members with time management to ensure efficient store operations
Qualifications
- Previous experience in cashiering, retail sales, or customer service preferred
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus (e.g., Spanish, French)
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and giving correct change
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to perform product demos and upsell effectively
- Professional phone etiquette and customer service orientation
Pay: $17.00 per hour
