As Rahr Malting Co.'s Agricultural Development Manager, you can be based anywhere within a driving proximity to Alix, Alberta, as you travel to our office and customer field sites. Your educational background in agronomy or plant and soil science, coupled with your passion or professional experience with barley, will allow you to hit the ground running. Under the direction of the Supply Chain Director, you will be primarily responsible for the agricultural development initiatives in Canada with the goal of delivering high quality raw materials for the procurement team. Acting as the barley specialist, you will represent Rahr Malting Co. to the brewing industry among suppliers and like professionals.

Your demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with grower suppliers and your solid knowledge of crop production will be vital to your success. As a natural self-starter, your savvy interpersonal skills and strategic, innovative thinking will help you solve any issues that may arise and secure the best opportunities for Rahr Malting Co. Your solid understanding of agricultural production and environmental conditions, weather patterns, harvest schedules, and other issues central to barley production will be required to do the job effectively. You understand plant species and variety characteristics and can properly identify plant disease and insect pests.
