Duties
- Plan, organize, and facilitate a variety of recreational activities that promote socialization, mental stimulation, and physical activity for residents.
- Assist residents with participation in activities, providing encouragement and support to ensure an inclusive environment.
- Collaborate with care staff to identify individual resident interests and special needs, including dementia care and mobility limitations.
- Monitor residents during activities to ensure safety and engagement, responding promptly to any concerns or emergencies.
- Maintain accurate records of participation, activity feedback, and resident preferences to tailor future programs effectively.
- Create a warm, welcoming atmosphere by fostering positive interactions among residents and staff.
- Support the overall well-being of residents by promoting independence and enhancing quality of life through engaging recreational experiences.
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities or nursing homes is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in senior care or caregiving roles that involve supporting elderly or disabled individuals.
- Knowledge of dementia care strategies and techniques for engaging residents with cognitive impairments.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members.
- Ability to be energetic, patient, attentive, and adaptable in a dynamic environment.
