The Department of Public Safety is seeking an individual to join the New Brunswick Crime Prevention Branch as the Project Manager working in Fredericton.

The Crime Prevention Branch is responsible for the prevention and reduction of crime and victimization and ensuring community safety by fostering collaborative partnerships with justice, health, social service and community stakeholders, and developing and promoting evidence-based and cost-effective prevention approaches throughout New Brunswick. The Branch coordinates the research, planning, implementation, evaluation and sustainability of improvements to New Brunswick crime prevention policy and practice through the New Brunswick Crime Prevention and Reduction Strategy. Initiatives include the redesign of provincial diversion programs; the Coordinated Community Response Model to high risk and high danger intimate partner violence cases; Changing Directions case management for chronic repeat offenders; and research projects aimed at providing New Brunswick data to inform decision making.

As a member of the Crime Prevention team, the successful candidate will provide professional project management services to the branch and stakeholders on various crime prevention initiatives, including New Brunswick's gun and gang violence prevention efforts. The position is responsible for stakeholder engagement; project planning, management and reporting; and drafting of professional documents and reports.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must possess a University degree in Law, Business Administration, Social Sciences or a related educational discipline and a minimum of four (4) years of related work experience in the project management, community development or crime prevention fields. A combination of experience and related education may be considered.

The position requires written and spoken competence in English. Bilingualism is considered an asset. Please state your language capability in your application.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate experience or knowledge in one or more of the following asset qualifications: evidence-based crime prevention, facilitating multisector collaborative projects or working with victims and offenders.

The following operational requirements are also required: a valid driver's license to carry out duties throughout the province. The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Criminal Records Background Clearance.

BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES: The successful candidate will possess the following behavioral competencies: Analytical Thinking/Judgment, Change Leadership, Effective Interactive Communication, Relationship/Network Building, Teamwork and Cooperation, and Results Orientation.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES: The successful candidate will possess the following technical competencies: Project Management, Specialized Subject Matter Expertise, and Presentation Skills.

Salary: Annual from $56,524 to $78,962.
