We are currently seeking Part Time Direct Support Professionals to work in our Residential Supports and Community Connection programs! Brantwood has a need to fill multiple currently vacant positions.
In Community Connections you will be primarily supporting community based goals for people supported in group living environments! This could relate to daily living activities and social/recreational activities that promote inclusion and belonging in our community!
You must be available to work a variety of shifts, including days, afternoons, evenings, nights, and weekends. Scheduled hours may vary depending on the needs of the people supported.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing individuals with disabilities the access to make independent decisions about their day to day lives!
- Developing rapport and relationships to better support and understand the people at Brantwood
- Support the individualized needs and choices of every unique individual
- Provide behavioural supports based on the individualized needs of persons supported (i.e., mental, physical, spiritual, behavioural, emotional)
- Required to travel with people supported in Brantwood vehicles and on public transportation within the community of Brantford and area, occasional trips out of town
- Assisting with personal care (bathing, meal preparation, assisting with personal tasks etc.)
- Administering medications
- Assisting with the development of care plans and goal development
- Completing detailed documentation
- Implement and follow behaviour support plans

Our ideal candidate will possess:
- Experience supporting individuals with multiple developmental diagnosis who communicate through non-verbal interactions
- Ability to reduce barriers for people supported
- Time management skills
- Facilitate full inclusion for people with developmental disabilities in their community
- Ability to work independently and consistently make good judgements that benefits the people supported to achieve goals (i.e., establishing social networks and navigating their community and building independence.)
- Human Services Diploma (i.e. DSW, PSW, SSW, CYW, etc.)
- Valid Class “G” driver’s license and an excellent driving record
- Valid Emergency First Aid & CPR/AED (Level A) certification
Successful Applicants will be required to provide:
- Police Vulnerable Sector Screening Check (no more than 3 months old)
- Brantwood Pre-Employment Health form
- 3 Year Driver's Record Search
- Proof of current Emergency First Aid & CPR/AED certification
- Proof of educational qualifications
