At Humana Medical Clinic, we believe that every patient interaction matters. We are looking for a Medical Office Assistant who is organized, professional, compassionate, and committed to delivering outstanding customer service while helping ensure the clinic operates efficiently each day.
The Impact You'll Have
As one of the first points of contact for our patients, you will play an important role in creating a welcoming and positive clinic experience.
You will work closely with physicians, nurses, and fellow team members to support patient care, coordinate appointments, manage medical documentation, and help ensure smooth day-to-day clinic operations.
The successful candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates effectively, remains calm under pressure, and genuinely enjoys helping people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome patients professionally and courteously
- Answer incoming calls and assist patients with inquiries
- Schedule, modify, and confirm appointments
- Register patients and maintain accurate patient information
- Process referrals, forms, and medical documentation
- Scan, upload, and manage patient records
- Coordinate physician requests and support clinical workflows
- Assist with prescription renewal requests and administrative follow-up
- Verify patient information and ensure accurate documentation
- Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and healthcare providers
- Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy at all times
- Assist in maintaining efficient clinic operations and patient flow
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and visitors
Must-Have Qualifications

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and remain organized in a busy medical environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy

- Strong computer and administrative skills

- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications / Assets
- Previous Medical Office Assistant experience
- Experience working in a medical clinic or healthcare setting
- Experience with Med Access EMR
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Experience with appointment scheduling and patient registration
- Experience processing referrals, forms, and medical documentation
- Post-secondary education in Medical Office Administration
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or nursing background
- Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
