Brief Overview:
Under the direction of the Infrastructure Operations Manager and/or designate, the MN-S Property Management Supervisor will lead property management operations for the Métis Nation–Saskatchewan, providing supervision and coordination for a team of Property Coordinators and Maintenance Technicians who deliver day-to-day building maintenance, repairs, and tenant services across all MN-S-operated properties. This supervisory role ensures efficient facility operations, budget compliance, contractor oversight, and adherence to the property management framework while supporting the growth and development of MN-S lands and assets.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and oversee Property Coordinators and Maintenance Technicians, including work assignment, performance management, coaching, and hiring support.

Direct overall operations, maintenance, and repair of all MN‑S properties, ensuring alignment with the property management framework and government policies.

Manage tenant relations and coordinate with the Director of Housing through the Director of Infrastructure to address priorities, inquiries, and service needs.

Implement and monitor preventative maintenance, safety inspections, and compliance with health and safety standards in coordination with the Safety Coordinator.

Oversee contractor/vendor relationships and service contracts, ensuring effective delivery of maintenance, renovations, and security services.

Support in the management of budgets, reporting, and property systems, driving cost-effective operations, data accuracy, and continuous improvement, while serving as escalation point for emergencies.
Knowledge and Skills:

Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, water/wastewater, life safety) and building envelope components (roofing, windows, concrete, masonry).

Knowledge of ground maintenance operations, tools, and safe equipment use.

Understanding of property management principles, service standards, and tenant-focused operations.

Knowledge of budgeting, financial monitoring, cost control, and contractor/vendor coordination, including basic contract administration.

Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience, with strong coaching, mentoring, and performance management abilities.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage tenants, employees, contractors, and leadership.

Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and make sound decisions.

Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and property management systems, with the ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and support flexible operational requirements;

Commitment to Métis cultural awareness and creating a culturally safe workplace.
Qualifications:
-
Minimum 5 years related experience in property management, building maintenance, or facilities management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.

Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Finance, Facilities Management or related.

Skilled trades Journeyperson, Building Systems Technician certificate, Certified Property Manager designation, or equivalent experience and education is an asset.

Training in OH&S, construction safety, and supervisory/leadership development is considered an asset.
Additional requirements:

Must provide an acceptable Criminal Record Check prior to starting employment.

Valid Saskatchewan driver’s license and access reliable transportation is required.

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
-
Capacity to perform light lifting (up to 40 lbs).

Ability to perform physical movements such as bending and twisting.

Willingness to carry out light maintenance tasks using basic tools (e.g., drills, hammers, etc.) as required.

Ability to occasionally navigate property sites, including walking through buildings, individual units, and outdoor areas.
